How to Download Twitter (X) Videos in HD — on Phone and PC
The fastest way to save any video or GIF from a tweet, in the best quality X offers.
X doesn't give you a download button, but every public video on the platform is stored as a normal MP4 file. All you need is the tweet's link — the rest takes about ten seconds.
Copy the tweet link
- On the phone app, tap the Share icon under the tweet and choose Copy link.
- On a computer, click the Share icon, or copy the address from your browser bar while the tweet is open.
- Links from both twitter.com and x.com work, and so do t.co short links.
Download the video
- Open the Twitter video downloader and paste the link into the box.
- Press Download. You'll see every quality the tweet has — usually 1080p, 720p and a smaller version.
- Tap the quality you want. Options marked with ⚡ start instantly.
TipA tweet can hold up to four videos. Each one appears as its own card with its own quality buttons.
Why is the quality lower than I expected?
X re-encodes everything it receives. If the person who posted it uploaded a 480p clip, 480p is the best that exists — no downloader can add detail that was never there. Pick the top option for the best copy available.
GIFs come down as MP4
Animated GIFs on X are actually short silent MP4 videos. That's why they download as .mp4 files: they're smaller and sharper than real GIFs and play everywhere.
