Why a TikTok Won't Download: Private, Removed or Region-Locked

What each error means and what you can (and can't) do about it.

Private accounts and friends-only videos

If a video is only visible to the creator's friends or followers, it can't be fetched from outside the app.

Removed or under review

Videos that were deleted, or taken down by TikTok, return a “not found” error. Open the link in a browser to check.

Region restrictions

TikTok isn't available in every country, and some videos are limited to certain regions. These can fail even though the link works for a friend abroad.

Photo slideshows

Our downloader is built for video. TikTok photo posts may only give you the soundtrack, or nothing at all.

TipIf you see “too many requests”, wait a minute — it's a temporary limit, not a problem with your link.
