How to Save Downloaded Videos to the Gallery on Android

Where Chrome stores downloads, and how to make them show up in your gallery.

Android browsers save downloads to the Downloads folder, and most gallery apps show that folder automatically. If yours doesn't, here's what to check.

Find the file

  • Chrome: tap ⋮ → Downloads.
  • Or open the Files app (Files by Google, My Files on Samsung) → Downloads.

Make it appear in your gallery

  1. In Google Photos, go to Library → Device folders and turn on backup for Download.
  2. On Samsung Gallery, open Albums — a Download album appears on its own after the first file.

TipLow on space? A 1080p minute of video is about 15–25 MB. Pick 720p for long videos to save storage.
